Crystals for the Modern Mermaid

When I snorkeled for the first time off the shores of Dibuluan Island in Palawan, Philippines, I was in part shock and part amazement! Here’s the thing, I don’t know how to swim, so fighting the fear out of being in the open seas was a big accomplishment for me. I’m usually a pool walker “starfish”, who sticks by the side of the walls of the pool for safety. There was something about the island energies of Palawan that helped me overcome my fears. I think it has something to do with the ancient energies of Lemuria (they say most of the southeast and Pacific islands are remnants of this ancient civilization).

When I was finally able to ignore the mental “what-ifs” going through my mind as I floated vulnerably in the water, my mind was blown away with intrigue and excitement! I would see the most colorful schools of fish turn around from their sea life activities and circle me in the water in a curious kind of way. We would stare face-to-face at each other as if telepathically communicating and saying, “Hi! Where are you from?”. The corals at the bottom and the fish that were in all colors of the rainbow were an amazing sight to see!

What I loved the most was being able to kick and maneuver around the waters so quickly with flippers on. I felt like a total mermaid in the water and it felt so natural. It almost felt like I instinctively knew how to “be” in the water… and I now I really miss that feeling and want to go back! Even though I’m not a swimmer, I’ve been a mermaid lover since I was a child and I look forward to snorkeling again in future vacations. In the meantime, here are some ways I love to connect with crystals to reconnect with Lemurian and mermaid energies:

1) Absorb Water Energies:
– Live by the ocean or visit the beach when you can and spend time with the ocean energies!

* Larimar

On the beautiful island of, Boracay, multicolored small pieces of corals could be found washed up on the shoreline. I was especially drawn to the blue corals!

While on a beach walk, I decided to hold some blue coral pieces in my hands and instantly felt a strong pulsing energy emanating from the pieces! When I got back to my beach house to do a beach front meditation, I held a large crystal in my receptive hand to compare the crystal and coral’s energies.  The blue coral’s energies were definitely stronger and I was intrigued and amazed!

– Corals have similar healing properties to sea shells in that they also were once living beings with an active DNA and consciousness that one can harness and use for healing.
– Blue coral is used for healing and preventing disease and illness, while white corals have healing properties that evoke transformation and unconditional love. White corals can also be programmed and store energies, just like crystals can.
– With that being said, Lemurian Quartz crystals, are ancient crystals programmed from those who once lived in Lemuria. They can be used to tap into ancient wisdom and are primarily found in Brazil where they were transported to before the fall of Lemuria. 

* Blue Lace Agate
A banded variety of chalcedony.

– Gentle water energy crystal.
– Raises ones spiritual level while providing emotional balance.
– An excellent tool for communication issues of shyness, fear of speaking or for those that talk too much or don’t think before they speak.
