Mookaite and Marsala Pantone Color

As someone who has a passion and love for color and design, at this time of the year, I enjoying combining my love of crystals and the announcement of the Pantone color of the year as a fun crystal theme. For 2015, the color of the year is called Marsala.

Pantone describes this color as:

“A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.”

Color has been known to have it’s own healing benefits and this specific red wine color ties in with the root chakra. When I was contemplating on which crystal best matches this color and description, I first though about garnet and ruby… but then Mookaite Jasper popped in my mind and felt like a better color match, specifically the plum, burgundy wine colored Mookaite. (*Mookaite usually also comes in other shades like creme, yellow, brown and dark purple).

Mookaite Jasper matches Pantone’s Marsala earthy red and it’s “enriches our minds, bodies and souls” description reflects Mookaite’s grounding and strengthening energetic properties. This crystal is actually silica based and contains ancient fossilized seashells that have broken down through time. I love adding a Mookaite crystal chip in my body oil for an anti-aging booster!
